There's no point looking to reduce roaming charges, if the service doesn't roam. We therefore pack several SIM card identities on to 1 SIM card, so that you get huge international coverage on a massive number of networks around the world.
We then use some cunning technology to dramatically reduce the cost of both your inbound and outbound calls.
Question: "How does it work?"
Answer: "Just fine"! - We do not want to bore you with all the bits (& bytes) that excite us geeks.
There's a couple of features that we will tell you about. Because this is a different SIM card from the one that you normally use, we suggest that you use a different phone for when you are travelling - you'll soon make up the cost! As you are about to go abroad, set up call forwarding on your "domestic" mobile to a landline number which we will provide you with. If you have "bundled minutes" to UK landlines, this call can be free of charge.
Any calls that are forwarded from your domestic mobile to the landline number allocated to you, we then forward to your international roaming SIM card. That way, you don't have to give people a different number to call when you are abroad, but you still reduce roaming charges for receiving calls. When you make calls from your international roaming SIM, we handle the call at our switch - and substitute the number of the international roaming SIM, and display to the phone you have called your "regular" domestic mobile phone number.
So, nobody notices any difference. Except you - and the Financial Director, who is delighted that you are making savings that can be from 25 to 80% on your roaming call charges!
