Save money when visiting Mexico with this Pay as you go SIM card, which includes 100 Pesos airtime (approximately US$9 or £5). There is a small cost to receive phone calls while in Mexico which is about GB£0.13 for calls originating in Mexico, and about GB£0.30 for international calls. Calls to Mexican numbers and "back home" are much less expensive than using your mobile phone abroad.

It is free to receive SMS and about GB£0.05 to send them, whether to Mexican mobile phones or international ones.

NB: you must have an unlocked tri-band phone to use this Mexican SIM card. We offer SIM free phones, specially selected for their suitability for international travel.

Your SIM card is activated and ready to use immediately upon your arrival - just put it into your phone and switch on! Once you have made a phone call you will then also be able to receive calls.

Your new Mexican phone number is enclosed in the instructions and starts with 442/ xxxxxxx.

Customer service can be reached by dialling *333 or *264 from your Telcel "Amigo" mobile.

Topping Up: Buy a voucher from one of the many authorised Mexican Telcell outlets to top up your Mexican prepaid SIM card. Dial *333, then choose the option "Abono de ficha" and enter the 14-digit top-up voucher code.

You can check your account balance by calling *333

For friends to call you, your number will start +52 (for Mexico) followed by your Mexican phone number. To make an international call, dial either 00 or the "+" symbol and the country code (e.g. 44 for the UK).
