Orate offers an increasing number of pay as you go international prepaid SIM cards from different countries for when travelling with mobile phone. These give you the advantages that there is no cost for you to receive a call (the USA is one of a few exceptions) and no monthly subscription. Calls within the country you are visiting are typically much less, and so are calls back home.
If you travel with mobile phone regularly to the same country, then buy yourself a pay as you go or prepaid SIM card for that country and discover just how much you can save on your calls! You may also want to get your calls forwarded to your international prepaid SIM card using our "Follow Me" service.
If you travel to several different countries, then the 09 roaming SIM card is ideal. This is also a pay as you go or prepaid SIM card, with incredibly low calling rates and it roams across more than 400 networks in over 150 countries and territories - in 112 of them, it is even free to receive calls!
SIM Card: It doesn't matter whether you call them SIM cards, SIMcards or SIM-cards, it is the "Subscriber Identity Module", or smart card, which makes a GSM phone work. Each one contains a microchip that houses a microprocessor with several kilobytes of memory. It is the "SIM card" which identifies the user to the network. Change the SIM card in your phone - and your phone can change to a phone on a foreign network! (This may need you to consider the topic of unlocking phones!)
Key Tip: discover how to make low cost international calls - if you buy a roaming SIM card or an international prepaid SIM card, and want people to be able to call you at low cost, this is a great money saver!
