Orate Mobile Technology and the Green Revolution

Orate ltd was established in Autumn 1999 as a consultancy to telecoms carriers and resellers, exploiting the knowledge base of the company's founder and director - Richard Atkins - who had worked previously at director level in multi million telecoms companies, and previously in international trading.

As a result of an early project for the Russian Space Agency, Richard's mobile phone bill was very high due to the cost of "roaming". The initial reaction was to whinge, but rapidly the consultancy mindset kicked in: what was the alternative? This was soon found: using prepaid or pay as you go SIMs for each country visited. Several people were told, resulting in several orders! A new business side to Orate was born, and a few months later the webshop started life. Over time, the product range has increased, with a massive array of mobile phone replacement batteries, chargers and data leads on offer.

The company also acts as a distributor for some products and services.

Location

Orate is located in Ipswich, about 1 hour from London by train, and a similar travelling time by car from London's Stansted airport.

At one end of the Cambridge to Ipswich hi-tech corridor, and with BT's research centre and Adastral Park on the outskirts of the town, Ipswich is one of the prime telecoms centres in the country. Orate ltd is a member of the hi tech community at the IP City Centre.

We have worked with telecoms companies in a variety of countries, from carriers to resellers, and also have helped large corporates and SMEs (small to medium sized enterprises). A recent project, for example, was to enable a company to become a Virtual Mobile Network Operator, offering theiir own branded mobile telephony package.

There's a free version so you can try it out, and there are then different levels of paid versions depending on your needs.
