Tariff for the '09 Mobile' Global Roaming SIM card

The word "tariff" sounds so simple, but stop and think about it for a moment: you can use your mobile phone in more than 150 countries - and from each of them, you can call any country in the world. You need quite some price list to cover all those options!

So, let's start off by pointing out that you can save up to 100% on the normal costs of using your GSM phone abroad with the 09 Mobile roaming SIM.

Because, with the '09 Mobile' prepaid Global Roaming SIM card, it's free to receive calls in 112 countries!

You can then save 70% or more on the phone calls which you make, not just to call "back home", but also "in country", and for calling other countries.

For people travelling abroad in groups, the 09 Mobile global roaming SIM card can save you a fortune on "buddy calls": normally, you pay for an international call, to call the mobile phone of your friend who is travelling as part of your group, and they pay to receive your call. That can be a combined cost of several pounds - and they're only a few hundred metres away! With your 09 Mobile prepaid international SIM cards, you make a low cost international call, and in many countries, it's free for your buddy to receive the call.

1. check the list below to find the "origination zone" that covers the country you are calling from
2. find the "destination zone" that includes the country you want to call to
3. Now read the tariff table to see what the price is.

   And remember, that if you're in any of the countries in "origination zones" 1, 2 and 3, receiving an inbound phone call is free of charge. Sending a text message (SMS) will cost €0.49 in all zones.

The Global Tariff Table - Rates at a Glance - in Euros

There is a connection fee per call of €0.25 and a surcharge of €0.20 if you are calling a mobile phone rather than a landline. Calling the customer service numbers - available as "speed dials" - is equivalent to calling destination zone 1.

The prices above are per minute, in Euros, and are billed in increments of 60 seconds.

Text messages will cost €0.49 to send. Receiving text messages will be free of charge. 09 Mobile have been promising us SMS from January 2006, but this still remains unavailable.

 Incoming Calls

If you are in Origination Zones 1, 2 or 3, it is free to receive inbound calls. For the other zones, the cost per minute is just €0.29 while you are in zone 4, €0.69 in zone 5, and €0.99 in zone 6. These prices represent a huge saving on what is normally paid.

The prices quoted are in Euros and are per minute. They are billed in increments of 60 seconds.
