It is highly recommended to charge your new battery for at least 12 hours prior to use. Please also be aware that PDA batteries usually need to be charged & discharged at least 4 times till they reach their best standby time, and should be fully discharged and fully recharged at least once a month. It is normal for a new battery to get warm while being charged (although not excessively hot!).
