ORATE
GOES 'LAST MILE' WITH LOW-COST RUSSIAN INFRARED NETWORKING RELIABILITY
OKBMEI,
an affiliate of the Russian space agency, has solved the 'last
mile', broadband dilemma with its high speed, reliable, and low
cost wireless infrared networking solution.
Their
wireless infrared equipment, being introduced by innovative telecomms
consultants, Orate, is poised to become the dominant last mile
broadband service, as it outperforms not only costly cable, limited
capacity DSL and unproven two-way satellite but also proves more
reliable and cheaper than the optical laser links being developed
in the US.
Unlike
US laser technology, OKBMEI's robust Russian photo-diode solution
has successfully been commercially implemented for the past 18
months in two sites, under the most severe weather conditions,
with no signal interruption.
The
network/equipment, which is small, easy to install and virtually
maintenance free, offers state of the art IP over Ethernet network
at speeds of up to 10 Mb/sec over distances up to 1.5km.ĘThe system,
operating at unregulated spectrum frequencies does not require
any form of licence or approval to install in either Europe or
the US.
OKBMEI
and Orate look forward to the widespread adoption of this wireless
infrared broadband solution.
