Important Note!

Whilst incoming calls are free with a Fidomatic SIM card, at this time it is not possible to make outbound international calls. The Fidomatic service does however include an email service – see below for details – so it is possible to send an inexpensive message “back to base” for either your home or office to call you.

Activating Your Service

• make sure your phone’s battery is charged

• insert your Fidomatic SIM card and switch on the phone

• call +1 888 481 3436 to register

• A Fido representative will assign your mobile phone number

Adding Talk Time

There are two ways to refill your Fidomatic account:

1)      With an airtime voucher that you can easily purchase at any one of 2500 store locations

• Enter *46 (free of charge) on your Fido handset

• Select option 2

• Enter your 4-digit Fidomatic access code. If you are filling your account for the first time, enter the 6-digit welcome code that appears on the holder of your first airtime voucher

• Enter the 12-digit secret number that appears on your airtime voucher

OR

2)       The following credit cards are accepted: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club/enRoute

• Enter *46 (free of charge) on your Fido handset

• Select option 3 and follow the instructions

Canada Domestic Rates

Long distance calls within Canada and the USA are calculated by the second, at a competitive rate of approximately 9.5 pence (about €0.15) per minute. Airtime charges apply.

Both local and long distance air time is calculated by the nearest second.

Canada International Rates

As previously mentioned, it is not possible to call abroad using your Fidomatic SIM. See the section below on e-mail messaging.

Email

Fido’s e-mail messaging lets you send and receive e-mail messages of up to 155 characters each, right on your handset display. Your e-mail address is easy to remember, because it is your Fido phone number (area code + your Fido number) followed by a “@fido.ca” (e.g. [email protected]).

This service works anywhere in Fido’s PCS coverage area and is billed on a per use basis at 10 ¢ for every mail message sent or received.

Service Life

Every time you refill your account, the validity period of your account balance is automatically extended by 90 days from the date of the refill. When the validity period of your last refill comes to an end, your account balance is set to zero. You must then refill your account within the following 60 days, otherwise your account and Fido phone number will be deactivated.
