Non geographic numbers:
this is what the telecoms industry calls those phone numbers that
don't have an area code related to a specific town or place.
Examples of non geographic numbers are (and
you can click on the images to get more information or to book
your own number):
0800 free phone numbers,
where you pay for your customers to call. Because there is no
barrier to them making a call, clients are more likely to ring
0845
local rate numbers. You might
be a long way away, but to your customers you are a local phone
call away.
0870
national rate numbers: these
help you to be seen as a "national player" and not just
a small "local" company.
0871
national rate numbers are quite
similar to 0870 numbers. However, you can use these to forward
calls to landlines abroad.
Here we use a "geographic"
number in a "non-geographic" way! We provide you with
a London number,
that rings wherever you are.
Note: you
can adjust the forwarding for any of these numbers via the internet
at any time, including diversion to voice mail or to a 24/7
answering service. This flexibility is invaluable,
as you can change office location without changing phone numbers
or stationery - even just diverting calls for a day or a few hours.
