PC laptop and mobile phone users can now send and receive emails anytime, anywhere in the world, at up to ten times normal speed and eighty per cent less cost.
The enabling service for business people on the move, is a brand new client/server, software driven, high speed e-mail network, called mailSpeed.
mailSpeed connects to all existing mobile networks - GSM, GPRS, CDMA and TDMA - and uses leading mail browsers such as Outlook Express, Lotus and Eudora etc using POP3 connections. It works seamlessly with today's hardware and users do not have to change internet service providers, email addresses or internet browsers.
The system works using an advanced combination of compression, prioritising and protocol technologies, which provide a transmission speed equal to or exceeding ISDN. A 1 MB attachment can be sent over a GSM connection in 2.2 minutes instead of 20 or more, at greatly reduced cost.
In the event of a disrupted connection, common in many mobile calls, an auto restore function eliminates data loss and maintains speed by resuming transfer at the point where connection is lost, instead of starting from scratch again.
Connection from laptop to a data enabled mobile phone is by cord, directly into a laptop or cordless, via infra red or Blue Tooth technology.
The mailSpeed network is easily accessed by simple registration and software download. Visit www.orate.co.uk/mailspeed for details.
